Special Needs

 Special Needs

Some of us have mild cases of epilepsy, and some of us have cases where we need things to help us along with safety, and other areas we need help with.

Adult Diapers

Some people with serious seizure disorders have problems with bladder control issues or ( incontinence ). One thing we need for this problem may be are treatments for this such as medications. When this fails a lot of epileptics with incontinence turn to the next available option adult diapers.I started becoming incontinent when I was 24, I have tried all the treatments and pill and turned to the diapers after failed attempts by age 26. So I have been wearing adult diaper for 22 years now. I am not ashamed that I have to wear them, I'm just happy that I don't have to embarrass myself in public if I lose control of my bladder functions.

Safety for Epileptics

For some epileptics the condition is mild but for many like myself, the condition is more severe. People like myself need things for safety.

Seizure Helmets

If you are an epileptic like I am and have drop attacks. it is a good idea to have head gear. The type of helmet differs depending on how you fall. Example: some people fall backwards or forwards even to one side. Also depending on how hard the impact will determine if you want a soft foam shell helmet or a hard shell will face shield option for forward falls. There are all different shapes and sizes according to your needs.A lot of people worry about how they will look if they get a helmet. I say better safe than sorry.

Bed Safety Rails

Another way to keep you safe from injury is to have bed safety rails to keep you from falling out of bed during a bad seizure. Another option to have are pads to go over the rails because even with the safety rails you can still injure yourself in bed if you hit your head.
